Carmel v New Victoria

Michael Harrison took three wickets as Carmel kicked off their EuroTwenty20 campaign with a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over New Victoria CC at Pen-y-Gelli.
After winning the toss skipper Danny Owens elected to field and Carmel quickly seized control against a depleted New Vics side in sunny early evening conditions.
Opening bowling Jonny Hunter (2-11) was the first to strike and received good support from fellow paceman Oliver Saynor (1-9) who both completed their four over spells.
Spinners Lee Rowles (1-10) and Gwion Dafydd (1-12) both took a wicket apiece with only New Victoria wicketkeeper Owen Jamieson (18) showing resistance.
Wickets continued to tumble and Harrison made an early bid to be among the leading wicket-takers after he scooped 3-3 off just overs as New Victoria reached 64 off their four overs.
Openers Nick Washbrook and Andrew Abraham (8) laid the platform for the Carmel innings before the latter was caught attempting to drive down the ground off the bowling of Jordan Howard (1-13).
Washbrook (19 not out) and Rich Jones (18no) saw Carmel cruise to the total with 6.3 overs remaining to collect all four points for the win.
